Milky Quartz Glass

Milky Quartz Glass
The milky quartz glass is made by melting vein quartz and quartz sand at high temperature, containing SiO2 over 99.5% . The material contains a large number of small bubbles (5000-8000/cm3), specifically used to manufacture quartz glass product for far-infrared heaters. When the heater is working normally, the visible light and infrared light emitted by the heating element (tungsten wire, nickel chromium wire) refract and reflect at the interface between bubbles and glass, forming a scattering effect. Photons transfer energy to Si and O molecules, generating vibrations with resonance frequencies located in the far-infrared region. They convert visible and near-infrared light into far-infrared, enhancing the intensity of far-infrared light. The infrared radiation energy of milky white quartz glass is 20%~38% higher than that of transparent quartz glass, which has energy-saving effect. The physical and chemical properties of milky white quartz glass are shown in the table below, where indicators such as thermal radiation coefficient, electrical energy to radiation energy conversion rate, and far-infrared transmittance are closely related to energy-saving effects.
